The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD announced on Switch with some improvements




This week's Nintendo Direct was an opportunity to discover a good number of remasterings for the Switch. And the most anticipated is undoubtedly that of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Like Mario, this other great license that is The Legend of Zelda will celebrate its 35th anniversary this year. Indeed, the first opus was released in Japan on February 19, 1994 and Nintendo chose to celebrate the event with the officialization of Skyward Sword HD. It will obviously be a remaster of the Wii episode launched in 2011 by the Japanese manufacturer.




Discreet improvements?

From the first trailer, unfortunately we have to face the facts ... The textures of this The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD seem a bit old-fashioned. However, the resolution will change to high definition and Nintendo has promised a framerate of 60 fps. The real changes are in the gameplay.

The Joy-Con will replace the Wii Motion Plus for controlling Link's sword and shield. Also, the joysticks will be used for people allergic to motion control and for owners of a Switch Lite who cannot detach the controllers from their machine.

Finally, Joy-Con in Zelda colors were also presented. They will be released at the same time as the game, on July 16, 2021. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is available for pre-order on the eShop at € 59.99.
